Privacy Policy

Flow Cart Mansour (Enkeltpersonforetak, org. no. 936 363 806), Wanny Woldstads veg 87, 9013 Tromsø, Norway, owns and operates FairTrip and is the data controller.

The app is published on the App Store and Google Play by Webora Tech, who also develops it.

We do not ask for an account, a name, a phone number or a payment card. We do not use analytics or advertising. We do not build a profile of you, and we do not sell or share data with anyone for marketing.

If you allow it, the app reads your position to show how far away a shop or a sight is, and to place you on the map. The calculation happens on your phone.

Your position is never sent to our servers and is never stored. Say no to the permission and everything else in the app still works — you only lose the distances.

When you ask the in-app assistant a question, your message is sent to Google's Gemini service, which produces the answer. Google processes the message to generate the reply.

Your message and the answer are stored in our database so that a follow-up such as "and the taxi?" makes sense. They are deleted automatically after 30 days.

Do not put personal details, payment information or anything sensitive in the chat. It is a price advisor, and it does not need to know who you are.

The app keeps a copy of prices, places and rules on the device so it still works without a signal, together with your chosen language and currency. This stays on your phone and is never sent to us. Deleting the app removes it.

Like any web server, ours records the IP address, the time and which page was requested. It is used to keep the service running and to spot abuse, and the records are deleted after 14 days.

The in-app chat is also limited per IP address so a single user cannot exhaust the service. That count is held in memory only and disappears when the server restarts.

Map tiles come from OpenStreetMap and CARTO, and photographs from Unsplash. When a map or an image loads, those services see your device's IP address, as they would with any website.

Bus times come from Entur and flight status from Avinor. Those are requested by our server, not by your phone, so they never see you.

Tapping a link to Uber, Bolt, Google Maps or a tour operator's booking page opens that company's own app or site, and from that point their own terms and privacy policy apply.

Location is used only with the permission you grant on the device, and you can withdraw it in your phone's settings at any time.

Server logs and the chat rate limit rest on our legitimate interest in keeping the service available and free from abuse.

The chat itself is processed to deliver the answer you asked for.

You may ask what we hold about you, ask for it to be deleted, or object to our handling of it. Write to post@flow-cart.com. Because there is no account, we may not be able to connect any data to you — which is the point.

If you believe we handle your data wrongly, you can complain to the Norwegian Data Protection Authority, Datatilsynet.

FairTrip is a travel guide for a general audience. It is not aimed at children and does not knowingly collect anything from them.

If this policy changes in a way that matters, we update the date at the top and, where the change is significant, say so in the app.
